MDIはオーストラリアにおける「ピノ・グリのゴッド・ファーザー」と称され、そして同時におそらく初めてオーストラリア産のオレンジワインを世にリリースした醸造家、Kevin McCarthy / ケヴィン・マッカーシーとその家族によって2022年にスタートした新たなレーベル。
その主な使命は、ヴィクトリア州マーレー・ダーリングの地で複数の先駆者たちの手によって栽培が続けられてきたイタリア系ブドウ品種の新たな可能性を追求すること。
ケヴィンの言葉を借りるならば、「太陽に愛され、石灰質土壌に恵まれ、情熱的な先駆者たちが切り拓いてきた”M”urray “D”arling “I”talyを発展させていくこと」です。
